Bold looks. Versatile electric tone. Premium Custom Collection character built for the stage.

The Michael Kelly Patriot Instinct Bold Custom Collection in Scorched is a distinctive solid-body electric guitar created for musicians who want their instrument to make an impression both visually and sonically.

Part of Michael Kelly's Patriot family, the Instinct Bold combines a modern interpretation of the classic single-cutaway electric guitar with premium visual detailing and a performance-focused design.

The dramatic Scorched finish gives the guitar an unmistakable appearance, while its dual-pickup configuration provides the tonal foundation needed for everything from clean rhythm work to powerful driven guitar sounds.

Whether you're performing on stage, recording in the studio or adding something distinctive to your guitar collection, the Patriot Instinct Bold is designed to deliver a combination of style, versatility and everyday playability.

What Is the Michael Kelly Patriot Instinct Bold?

The Patriot Instinct Bold is a solid-body electric guitar from Michael Kelly's Patriot family.

Its design takes the familiar idea of a single-cut electric guitar and gives it a distinctly Michael Kelly personality through carefully selected woods, eye-catching finishes and performance-oriented construction.

The Custom Collection designation makes visual presentation an important part of the instrument's identity.

This isn't intended to disappear in the background.

It's a guitar designed to look as compelling hanging in a studio as it does under stage lighting.

Scorched Custom Collection Finish

The Scorched treatment gives this Patriot Instinct Bold its immediately recognizable appearance.

Rather than relying on a simple solid-color finish, the design emphasizes the visual character of the guitar's top and creates a more dimensional, premium presentation.

Under changing light, the grain and finish can reveal different visual details and depth.

That makes the Scorched model particularly appealing to players who view an instrument as both a musical tool and an extension of their visual identity.

Because natural wood figuring can vary, individual instruments may have their own unique grain patterns and visual characteristics.

Dual-Pickup Electric Guitar Versatility

The Patriot Instinct Bold uses a dual-pickup architecture designed to give players access to multiple electric-guitar voices.

Select the neck pickup for warmer and fuller sounds.

Move to the bridge position for additional attack and definition.

Combine both pickups when the arrangement calls for a blend of the two.

That straightforward configuration gives the player a useful range of sounds without making the instrument unnecessarily complicated.

Built for Clean & Driven Sounds

A versatile electric guitar needs to perform well beyond one amplifier setting.

The Patriot Instinct Bold can become the foundation for a wide range of tones depending on the amplifier, effects and pickup selection used with it.

Use it for:

• Warm clean rhythm

• Edge-of-breakup blues

• Crunchy rock rhythm

• Driven lead guitar

• Ambient effects

• Pop guitar

• Alternative

• Worship

• Studio layering

• Live performance

Connect it to a clean amplifier and explore its natural pickup character.

Add overdrive or distortion and transform it into a powerful rock instrument.

Build a pedalboard around it and the guitar can become the starting point for an even broader tonal palette.

Single-Cutaway Design

The Patriot Instinct Bold uses a single-cutaway solid-body design.

This familiar architecture gives the guitar a substantial visual presence while allowing access farther up the neck for lead playing.

For musicians who appreciate classic single-cut styling but want something visually different from the instruments seen everywhere else, the Patriot family offers a distinctive alternative.

Designed for Stage Performance

A performance instrument needs more than an attractive finish.

It needs to work as part of a complete live rig.

The Patriot Instinct Bold can serve as the center of a setup incorporating:

• Guitar amplifiers

• Effects pedals

• Multi-effects processors

• Pedalboards

• Wireless systems

• Modeling systems

• Recording interfaces

• Direct guitar rigs

That makes it equally comfortable in a traditional amplifier setup or a modern digital performance environment.

A Strong Studio Guitar

The Patriot Instinct Bold can also become a useful recording instrument.

Changing pickup positions, amplifier settings and effects can create contrasting guitar layers from the same instrument.

Record a warmer neck-pickup part.

Layer it with a more focused bridge-pickup track.

Add a clean ambient texture.

Then build a driven rhythm layer beneath it.

For producers, the ability to create multiple complementary sounds from one guitar can make arranging considerably easier.

Designed for the Modern Guitarist

Today's guitarists often move between musical styles within the same performance.

A single set might require clean rhythm parts, ambient textures, crunchy guitars and driven lead sounds.

The Patriot Instinct Bold provides a versatile electric platform that can adapt to those different roles through pickup selection, amplifier settings and effects.

A Guitar Designed to Be Seen

There are guitars you buy primarily for utility.

Then there are guitars that become part of your stage identity.

The Scorched Custom Collection treatment puts the Patriot Instinct Bold firmly into the second category.

Its distinctive visual presentation makes it particularly attractive for:

• Touring musicians

• Performing artists

• Content creators

• Recording studios

• Guitar collectors

• Worship musicians

• Event performers

• Players who simply want something different

For musicians appearing in photographs, videos and live performances, the appearance of an instrument can matter almost as much as what's coming through the amplifier.
